SUMMER PROGRAM 2021

  Please remember the following details

1      Two weeks’ notice before the start of the summer holidays is needed if you wish to change or cancel your place.

2      If we are going on an outing then we would like all children in by 10:15 and they can be collected at 5:30p.m.

3      All children need to bring lunch boxes, unless stated please do not put in nuts or fizzy drinks.

4      All children must be collected by 5:45 p.m. or late charges will be incurred.

5      Please ensure all your emergency contact details are up to date.

6      If we need to give you any messages for the day they will be on the noticeboard on the front door of the club.

 Holiday club activities

Tuesday 29th June

Eco Day

We will be up-cycling recycled materials and then looking and learning about how to help the world we live in.

Wednesday 30th June

Bubbles Day

We will be creating our own bubbles to make bubble painting, and play games. The fun will not stop even when the bubbles go pop! Spare t-shirt and shorts might be need!

Thursday 1st July

Make it and Bake it

We will be cooking in the morning and then clay modelling in the afternoon, but all will get popped in the oven to make them fabulous!

Friday 2nd July

Outing

We are going on a woodland wander to learn some wilderness skills and see what animals we can find and help along the way.

Monday 5th July

Construction Day

Today we are getting out the screwdrivers and hammers to construct new objects out of different materials.

Tuesday 6th July

 Tours around the World

We are going from Darkest Africa through Egypt to beyond! Come and journey with us, picking up stamps for your passport on the way!

Wednesday 7th July

Judge it Right Judge it wrong!

Today is all about consequences. We will be giving you different solutions and problems to solve. If you get it right then the rewards follow, if not, then face the consequences!!

Thursday 8th July

Edinburgh Tour

We will be out and about in Edinburgh, enjoying what the city has to offer and visiting museums and art galleries, parks and gardens along the way!

Friday 9th July

Junk Day

We are getting old bits of junk and to create new objects and repurpose them make new games as well. Feel free to bring in any interesting bits of junk and we can sterilize them and use them for our theme today.

Monday 12th July

Disney Day

Feel free to dress up or bring in your favourite Disney movie (U’s only). You will be enjoying quizzes and activities to do with Disney all day.

Tuesday 13th July

Mission Eggbert Day

The Idea of today is to complete the challenges and as a reward you get packaging. At the end of the day, you use the packaging to protect your egg. When we throw it out the club window will your egg survive or be scrambled?

Wednesday 14th  July

Harry Potter Day

Time to pass the tasks and then see if the magic works. Potions and tasks will see you have a busy day. Bring any wands you may have!  

Thursday 15th July

Wilderness skills,

We will be learning how to get water from the sun, and light fires and build shelters for us and the wildlife around us.

 Friday 16th July

Giant Games Day

Today we are playing lots of games where we all join in! From card games to outdoor games, we are going to have lots of fun. If you have a favorite game let us know and we will try and incorporate it!

   Monday 19th July

 Ninja Day

Today you are going to learn some ninja moves and learn the art of controlled movement! You will also be given some ninja tasks and games.

Under Water Day

This has been requested as people had so much fun with this topic at Easter. We are going fishing again and then playing lots of games to do with the sea.

Well-being Wednesday

Today we are looking after our mind and body. We will be making smoothies, face masks and lip balms, and attempting yoga, pilates, and meditation.

Puzzle me this Puzzle me that!

You will be given various tasks, quizzes, puzzles, and riddles to complete, but if you work together maybe you can find the reward!!

Friday 23rd July

 Sports Day

We will be having fun today with fun races and team events from tug of war to potato races, this will be a fun outdoors day.

Monsters and Aliens

With the creating and playing of games involving monsters and aliens, this day could be out of this galaxy!

Tuesday 27th July

Fantasy and mythical Creatures Day

From looking at mythical creatures from days gone by to creating our own, today allows you to let your imagination go wild.

Messy Play Day

Today you can get really messy! We will be making mud pies and a mud garden, doing messy art activities, and some experiments. Plus making slime! Wear old clothes that can get dirty

Park Day

We are off to the parks in the local area to have some fun and have a picnic today.

Friday 30th July

Animal Day

We love our furry friends here and today we will honour all things from the animal kingdom. We will be making masks, creating clay models, and getting in touch with our animal within!

Crystal Maze Day

Enter the zones and complete the challenges to gain time in the dome and collect as many silver squares as you can.

Thursday 5th August

Water Day

Prepare to get soaked! We have various challenges to get you wet but do not worry you can get revenge on us! Please bring towels and a change of clothes/swimsuit, Water pistols, etc..

Friday 6th August

Beat the Clock!

See if you can complete all the tasks and activities in the set time in order to get the tokens. The team with the most tokens at the end of the day wins the prize!

 Monday 9th August

Outing

We will be out and about, and the destination will be decided nearer the time depending on weather and restrictions. If all good, we may be off to Dalkeith Country Park.

Tuesday 10th August

 Detective Day

You are going to figure out clues to find out who performed a crime where they were, and how they did it! So, bring your thinking caps to solve the problems.

Wednesday 11th August

Science Day

Let us try new things and see what happens! Cornflour and water, lemon and bicarbonate of soda and coke and mentos to name but a few experiments we will be undertaking

   Thursday  12th August

Cartoon Day

This is a fun day with lots of your cartoon favorites. We will be playing games and doing treasure hunts and maybe even decorating cookies

Friday 13th August

Space Day

We are going interplanetary today and blasting off to space for a day full of exploration and inventiveness.

Monday 16th August

Children's Choice Day

We will be celebrating the last day of the holidays and will be allowing all the children to pick their favourite things to do!
