Broughton After School Club

Edinburgh

Supporting children’s development in a flexible and safe environment.

We provide an out-of-school service for the children of Broughton Primary School in Edinburgh.

You can be assured that your child is being cared for by dedicated staff, who acknowledge your child’s success and build their self-esteem by praising ideas and achievements.

Our busy and thriving after school club promotes healthy play in the outdoors. All Covid-19 procedures are being followed in line with stipulations detailed by the Scottish Government.

Meet The Team

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Katie

Manager

I am a qualified Montessori Teacher and have done an NVQ4 in business management and completed my B.A in childhood practice. I have run childcare facilities both down south and up here for the last 30 years. As a team we seek to give the children in our care variety, challenges, fun and freedom and empower them to have confidence in all they try.

Nina

Play Worker

“Play is the work of the children” (M. Montessori), and I feel privileged to be part of all the discoveries and the inner worlds that unfold whilst playing and being creative with materials. Having obtained a BA(Hons) and a MA in Psychology, I have loved working with children for the past 5 years. I strive to support children in reaching their potential through the medium of play.

Kathryn

Play Worker

I have an HNC in both childhood practice and fitness health exercise. I look forward to using all the skills I have learned in both these courses to bring some exciting activities to the club! I am also a championship highland dancer and I am excited to share my love of dance with the children through fun, skilled, fitness activities.

Paula

Play Worker

I originate from Spain and have experience with young people and children and have completed a Degree in Social Education and have worked with all ages of children. I believe in a child centred approach to childcare and this is why I wanted to work here

Trent

Sports Play Worker

I am originally from the Australia where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a speciality in sport. After leaving University I was employed by my local secondary school as a class tutor and a physical education teacher there for four years before moving to Edinburgh. I have worked here since January and am loving getting the children involved in games and keeping them active.

Neville

Sports Play Worker

I hold both a higher national diploma in sport coaching and development and a bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science. I enjoy seeing children's abilities develop, whether through sports or the soft skills they get from participating. I'm excited to help everyone improve, keep active, and develop an interest in a variety of sports.
